New Zealand Bloodstock' best-known showcase Karaka Yearling Sale boasts one of its strongest stallion line-ups in decades including progeny by top proven sires including Darci Brahma a prolific source of winners across Australasia and Asia, Iffraaj who made an indelible impact over 11 seasons at stud in this part of the world as a shuttle stallion, Cox Plate winner Ocean Park who has sired 12 individual stakes winners to date, Per IncantoIncanto whose name has become a regularin the top five on the New Zealand sires’ premiership, dual hemisphere Group One-winning Reliable Man has sired 15 individual stakes winners, Savabeel - the undisputed king of New Zealand’s current sires, Tavistock whose untimely death in December 2019 was a shock in breeding circles and whose progeny have illustrated the scale of that loss with a series of top-class performances. Also, the catalogue features sensational new names from stallion line-ups on both sides of the Tasman when their first crops of yearlings go through the ring during Karaka 2021 including:

- Almanzor, the son of Wootton Bassett whose progeny are sure to be the centre of attention come Karaka 2021. The catalogue for Book 1 features 48 Almanzor yearlings, with another two in Book 2)

- Elite sprinter Caravaggio shuttled to Coolmore Australia in 2018, is by the late, great American star Scat Daddy. The catalogue for Book 1 of Karaka 2021 features five yearlings by Caravaggio.

- Four-time Group One winner Churchill is another promising stallion shuttling to Coolmore Australia. His sire Galileo needs no introduction and his stunning yearlings catalogued in Book 1 for Karaka 2021, and one in Book 2 should need no introduction either.

- Grangewilliam Stud’s new recruit Derryn is by Hinchinbrook, sire of four Group One winners including superb Hong Kong sprinter Beat the Clock and Caulfield Guineas hero Press Statement. Derryn produced 53 live foals in his first crop. There are two yearlings in Book 1 of Karaka 2021, with 12 in Book 2.

- The speedy son of champion Australian stallion I Am Invincible, Hellbent stands alongside his champion sire at Yarraman Park. Buyers will have access to two Hellbent yearlings in Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Darley’s Impending stands in Victoria and is by Australian Horse of the Year and highly successful sire Lonhro. There are three yearlings by Impending in Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Aquis Farm stands Invader by record-breaking Aussie stallion Snitzel. Invader has one yearling in Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Coolmore’s Merchant Navy is by Australia's champion sire Fastnet Rock. Merchant Navy himself won seven of his 10 starts and was a Group One winner in both hemispheres. Book 1 of Karaka 2021 will feature five yearlings by Merchant Navy.

- Three yearlings by the talented and beautifully bred Mongolian Falcon feature in the catalogue for Book 2 of Karaka 2021.

- There is one yearling by Redoute’s Choice sired Pariah in Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Three yearlings from the first crop of Group One-winning son of the influential Iffraaj - Ribchester’s feature in Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Slick sprinter Russian Revolution who stands at Newgate Farm will be represented by four yearlings Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

- Satono Aladdin stood at Rich Hill Stud but was unfortunately unable to return in 2020 due to travel complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. From his first season at Rich Hill Stud, Satono Aladdin produced 60 live foals. He has nine yearlings in Book 1 of Karaka 2021, and 15 in Book 2.

- Book 1 of Karaka 2021 features one yearling by Group One performer Spieth.
- Shuttling to Little Avondale Stud, Time Test is by Dubawi, who was a multiple Group One winner and was champion of his generation in Ireland at the age of both two and three. Time Test’s first New Zealand crop produced 76 live foals, he is the sire of eight yearlings in Book 1 of Karaka 2021, and 16 in Book 2.

- The first crop War Decree at Inglewood Stud numbered 55 live foals. Karaka 2021 will feature nine War Decree yearlings in Book 1 and eight in Book 2.

- Group One performer What’s the Story by Savabeel stands at Norwegian Park. What’s The Story has one yearling entered for Book 1 of Karaka 2021.

Showcasing some of New Zealand’s brightest talent, the elite selection of 579 yearlings will go through the ring in Book 1 on January 24, 25 and 26, followed by another 339 quality youngsters who will go under the hammer in Book 2 on January 27 and 28.

The catalogue for Book 1 features the progeny of Group One-winning mares Planet Rock (Fastnet Rock), Prize Lady (NZ) (Prized), Rena’s Lady (Arena), Rock Diva (NZ) (Lucky Unicorn), Valley Girl (NZ) (Mastercraftsman), Chenille (NZ) (Pentire), Fanatic (NZ) (Shocking), Guiseppina (NZ) (Johar), I Do (NZ) (No Excuse Needed) and Insouciant (NZ) (Keeper).

There are also siblings to Group One winners Jennifer Eccles (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle), Lizzie L’Amour (NZ) (Zabeel), Tarzino (NZ) (Tavistock), Authentic Paddy (NZ) (Howbaddouwantit), Ugo Foscolo (NZ) (Zacinto), Cool Aza Beel (NZ) (Savabeel), Consensus (NZ) (Postponed), (The) Bostonian (NZ) (Jimmy Choux), Johnny Get Angry (NZ) (Tavistock) and Marky Mark (NZ) (Makfi).
