Milburn Creek’s Snitzel colt surpassed all others the annual Gold Coast sale and the farm finished as the leading vendor.
The Walk With Attitude / Snitzel colt was the pick of their bijou draft for the 2021 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale and he proved a delight for Suman Hedge who purchased the good-looking son of Snitzel for A$500,000.
Although the draft was not as big as Milburn Creek’s preview drafts, the fifth foal of stakes-winning and stakes producing Hussonet mare Walk With Attitude set a high benchmark. The colt is a full brother to the Group performer Spend.
Milburn’s other top sellers from the draft included the gorgeous Component/Star Turn colt and the attractive good-moving Ray Willis owned-Talented Miss /Hellbent colt was sold for A$100,000.
“He was very unlucky not to have been sold earlier through the year,” said a delighted Suman Hedge of his A$500,000 purchase.
“He was probably the standout horse of the sale for a lot of people and we’re absolutely delighted to have been able to secure him today.”
“Scott Holcombe (Milburn Creek’s Farm Manager) is probably one of my closest allies in the industry and someone I respect immensely and he’s always loved this colt.”
The John and Trish Muir owned and Holcombe managed farm is one of the leading breeding organisations in Australia, with a strong belief in selling quality products.
Another Milburn success was the Doubt I’m Dreaming colt sold at the same sale for A$210,000 a few years ago to Trainer Jonny McArdle. The ill-fated Not a single Doubt collapsed and died at trackwork. McArdle has previously said that he regarded the colt as the best he’s ever trained.
Milburn Creek is no stranger to sales successes. Muir’s former star racemare Secret Admirer, who won over A$1.4 million in prize money also produced an I Am Invincible colt for A$560,000. “Her Dundeel weanling colt which is likely to go to Easter! And she is due to Foal to The Autumn Sun” said Holcombe.
