Q: Could you tell us more about what makes Taste of Heaven so special you crossed the A$1 million mark and where she is headed to next?
A: Taste of Heaven is a Stakes’ producing sister to Redoutes Choice. In foal to I AM Invincible and She is a good type. She will reside at Yarraman Park.
Q: You spent A$3,910,000 for 9 mares at the National Broodmare Sale, where typically the prices are around the A$200,000 - A$ 500,000 mark. Did you feel the market was polarising?
A: The top is extremely strong, but I see it as blue-chip investing.
Q: You spent an average of A$ 435,000 for the 9 mares. Did you go into the sale expecting to spend these kinds of money?
A: Some of the buys are organised on the complex but generally they were orders in advance.
Q: Do you feel that recently, in a new trend, raced mares with some popularities are more in-demand as mares and thereby securing much higher prices than unraced mares? If yes, as you are closer to the ground, why do you feel that is? If not, why not?
A: Maiden mares are good traders; they don’t have any convictions.
Q: Where will you go next? Which sales are you pointed at? Especially considering the uncertainties around the Southern Broodmare and Weanling Sales.
A: We would hope to attend the great southern, if not we will be active online.
