Tabcorp’s exciting sprinter Lost And Running finished fourth in the A$15 million Everest. The John O'Shea-trained four-year-old will be competing in the Classique Legend Stakes, won by another Everest 2021 contender last year, Gytrash in great style. O‘Shea is also considering giving Lost And Running a crack at the A$1m The Hunter next month at Newcastle.
The highly respected Australian conditioner believes the star sprinter is on an upward spiral and could be set to win a pair of million-dollar races to finish off his massive spring campaign in style.
Lost And Running produced the performance of his career when finishing fourth against the best sprinters in the land at his last start earlier this month.
“He will do a piece of work on Tuesday and we might even go to the Hunter with him because he is doing so well but we will see what happens,” said O’Shea, “It is just about having him happy, sound and fit and he will always give a good account of himself.”
Taborp’s Managing Director Wagering & Media, Adam Reinked said, “Lost and Running did a great job.”
“His fast-finishing fourth was a credit to the horse and his trainer John O’Shea.
“While a win has eluded us, we’ve been close a few times and will be carefully selecting another runner capable of winning the TAB Everest next year,” said Rytenskild.
The founding slot holder has had nothing but praise for Everest and its deep connection with the race.
“Being a slot holder gives us amazing opportunities to engage customers in our deep connection to racing, with our talented team across TAB and Sky and the full TAB experience,” said Rytenskild.
“The race continues to go from strength to strength. The TAB Everest has thoroughly captured the attention of the racing public and brought new fans to racing,” he said.
