Auraria Stakes winner Tyche Goddess is set to follow on the traditional path to the $500,000 G1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on May 1 after her winning performance on Saturday.
The last horse to complete the double was Sopressa in 2018 and despite scoring at bolters odds, co-trainer Natalie Young is confident it was no flash in the pan performance.
Her co-trainer confessed despite thinking the Teofilo filly looked over the odds, she didn’t get a bet on.
Passed in as a yearling for $100,000, Tyche Goddess is raced in the familiar orange and green diamonds of the Pope family.
Young wasn’t on-course at Morphettville on Saturday with Group 1 runners at Randwick, with both horses having returned home for a spell.
