Gr.1-winning trainer Shaun Dwyer and his wife Geri will soon be based in Queensland after basing himself in Bendigo for the past 13 years.
He has applied for 30 boxes and is set to enter a training partnership with their son Shaun Dwyer Jnr, who is currently training at Toowoomba.
Dwyer, 62, enjoyed success in his time in Victoria, highlighted by dual Gr.1 placegetter Miss Leonidas and one-time Golden Slipper favorite Villa Verde, but said now was the right time to head home.
The four-time winner of the Bendigo Trainers' Premiership and the trainer of the Bendigo Horse of the Year four-time, expects many of his team of current horses to find new homes in Victoria, while his training establishment adjacent to the Bendigo Jockey Club is expected to be on the market in coming weeks.
Shaun Dwyer Jnr, 29, moved back to Queensland at the end of 2019 with the first two starters he saddled-up resulting in winners.
