Artie Schiller, the foundation sire of Mike Becker’s Stockwell Thoroughbreds, has sired Stockwell’s eleven-yearling draft heading to the Melbourne Gold sale.
The son of El Prado (Sadler's Wells) has been a highly successful sire in spite of limited numbers and quality mares throughout his career. Maintaining his impressive 70% winner to runner ratio and better than 5% SW to starter rate with 54 individual stakes winners across his career.
From quality 2YOs and champion 3YOs, Artie Schiller has provided brilliant stake winners from 1000m to 2400m.
And our Melbourne Gold draft will provide quality youngsters more than capable of continuing that high standard.
“Two colts will headline the draft and both will be attractive to buyers,” said owner Mike Becker.
“Lot 188, despite being a November foal, is an extremely well grown and developed individual, being from the multiple Canadian stakes winner Double Malt. In the mould of his sire, this colt is a leggy colt with great length and good depth of girth.”
“The second colt, now more grey than his registered birth brown color, is from the good producing mare In Elegance, and sell as Lot 245. She has produced metropolitan winners in Sydney and Melbourne from her three-winning progeny of four to race and hails closely from the family of champion racehorse and sire Rock Of Gibraltar,” he said.
Stockwell also has well-related Artie Schiller fillies in the sale, including a daughter of the proven producer Chitraka who has left winners with each of her first five foals.
