Glen Boss is adamant about winning the Caulfield Cup. It's a personal vendetta and due to complications with cross-border travel, Boss felt that he had to make a decision early about his spring plans. He left rides in the lucrative Spring Carnival in Sydney, and made his way to Melbourne.
Boss admitted that he had been looking at potential Caulfield Cup rides for this year's renewal of the 2400-metre handicap.
The international jockey hopes to complete the grand slam of Australian racing, having won four Cox Plates, three Melbourne Cups and two Golden Slippers to date. Boss was a permanent part of the Melbourne racing scene for more than 10 years and says he's looking forward to renewing some old associations.
There's also a personal element to his decision to head south, as his two children are based in Melbourne.
